West Bengal: Sanjay Rai sent to 14 days jail custody in R G Kar Hospital Rape and Murder Case

Sanjay Rai, the only arrested person in the R. G. Kar. rape and murder case, was sent to 14-day jail custody today by the Sealdah court in Kolkata. He was produced today at the court. Earlier, he was given 14 days of police custody after the arrest by the Kolkata Police. Later, he was handed over to the CBI.

In a related development, state Health Secretary Narayan Swarup Nigam urged the resident doctors to join the work. Mr. Nigam said that the new Medical Superintendent-cum-Vice Principal and the Principal of the Medical College have joined their duties. He also told me that the Head of Chest Medicine and the assistant superintendent have been transferred.
