I&B Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Pays Tribute To Martyrs On Occasion Of Kargil Diwas

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today paid tribute to the martyrs on the occasion of Kargil Diwas. Talking to media in New Delhi, Mr Vaishnaw said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is becoming self-reliant in the defence sector. He said, in the last ten years, 70 percent of defence equipment has been produced in India. He said, the country is exporting the defence equipment to 80 countries and it has exported defence worth about 25 thousand crore rupees.

The Minister alleged that during the Congress period, the situation was such that roads were not built on the border areas, whereas today roads have been built in more than six thousand 800 kilometres of border areas.
