BJP hit out at Congress following its leader Salman Khurshid’s reported remarks

BJP today hit out at Congress following its leader Salman Khurshid’s reported remarks that violent protest like Bangladesh is possible in India. Talking to media outside Parliament, party spokesperson Sambit Patra said Mr. Khurshid warned that protests and arson can break out in India and what happened in Bangladesh could happen in India. He alleged that many other leaders including Congress MP Shashi Tharoor were present on the occasion and they in a way supported the comments. The BJP leader also alleged that former Congress President Rahul Gandhi spoke against India whenever he went abroad. He added that  Mr. Khurshid’s statement is very serious. He accused the Congress of wanting to create anarchy as it is unable to win the elections.

Meanwhile, Congress has distanced itself from Mr. Khursid’s comment. Party leader Manickam Tagore told the media that it is his individual opinion.

Yesterday, during a book release function in New Delhi, Congress leader Salman Khurshid had made the comments.
